It is surprising what you can save once you start replacing your old incandescent light bulbs with newer high efficiency Compact Fluorescent bulbs.
It is now law in Europe that manufacturers and shop owners will have to start to replace all bulbs and so slowly the changing process will take place. On a country level for Spain or on a larger, European level the energy savings will be enormous. In some cases the newer bulbs are up to five times more efficient and if you replace some of your older lighting fittings this can also have an impact.
You should be able to buy high efficiency Compact Fluorescent bulbs in most Hardware Stores.
