Office Suppliers

It is important to try and introduce a green culture into the company. Through simple training programs try and get procurement and buying departments to start to bring environmental impact into the equation when they are looking to buy new products for the company or are planning to use exterior services.
Many companies and especially larger organizations are still very wasteful when it comes to unnecessary travel and often look for suppliers, people and products which need to be shipped or flown in from far away when there was a much cheaper local alternative available. Companies also need to start to look at the “source” of each product to see if it is compatible with its environmental or Corporate Social responsibility programs. If there are not any programs clearly in place where you work ask for them to be implemented. Most people will be surprised by their employer’s reaction as most companies would wish to be seen as companies that take issues such as climate change seriously.
Price
There is a common belief in many procurement departments that green is expensive, this could not be further from the truth. Many products that are environmentally friendly often pay for themselves in a reasonably short period of time and local products can be often of the same if not better quality than expensive imports. This also means that your company is contributing to the local community as well as creating jobs locally.
Communication Strategies, In the case of green procurement it is often necessary to explain to staff and stake holders actions taken by the company on where they have sourced certain products, materials , ingredients or services and good green procurement can often go in the company´s favor, especially when it comes to employee engagement.
